LOST / 1. BÖLÜM SENARYOSU

(Jack's eye is closed. We linger on his eye for a moment. Suddenly, his eye opens wide.)

[JACK'S POV [point of view]BOTTOM UP VIEW OF A CANOPY OF TREES OVERHEAD]

(It's daylight.  We hear the tree leaves rustling in the wind. Jack is on his back lying on the ground.  He takes several deep panting breaths, his face in shock.)

(Camera pulls back on Jack as he continues to pant and breathe heavily.  He doesn't move.  Around him, we hear more and more sounds of the forest - birds, leaves, insects.  He takes a shuddering breath.)

(Suddenly, he hears movement to the side.  He turns his head to look.  He
doesn't move, almost afraid of what he's going to see.)

[JACK'S POV]

(He sees the bases of the trees and ground before him.)

[JACK]

(Jack continues to breathe heavily.  He blinks.)

(A sandy-colored Labrador Retriever approaches him through the bushes.  A few feet away from him, the dog stops.)

[EXT. BAMBOO FOREST - DAY - CONTINUOUS]

(Jack doesn't move.)

(The dog whimpers and trots toward Jack.  He turns and runs past him.)

(Jack raises his arm and touches his head.  He tries to get up and groans as he sits up.)

(A bird calls in the distance.)

(Jack grabs ahold of the bamboo tree nearest him and pulls himself up to his feet.  He groans in pain, his eyes closed.  He stands up and takes stock of himself.)

(He looks down at his left side.  We don't know if he's hurt there, but we see him hurting somewhere.  He leans back against a bamboo tree, gasping in pain and trying to get ahold of himself.)

(He digs into his pocket and pulls out a small travel bottle of Vodka.  He looks at it.  His hand is trembling.  He puts a hand to his forehead.)

(He takes several shuddering breaths and pulls himself together.  He looks
around and takes stock of his surroundings.)

(Suddenly he moves forward, through the trees, making his way toward something - somewhere.  Anywhere.  He keeps moving forward.)

(Suddenly he's running ... running as fast as he can through the trees.)

(Jack runs and runs.  He makes a small turn in the brief clearing and continues running.)

(The Camera lingers on a single white shoe dangling by its shoelace caught on a tree.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. BRUSH - DAY - CONTINUOUS]

(Jack pushes through the bushes and stops.  He's panting as he looks around.)

(In front of him is a sandy beach and endless ocean.  Nothing but ocean.  He looks around.)

[EXT. BEACH - DAY - CONTINUOUS]

(We hear the sounds of a woman screaming.)

(We hear more sounds of the woman and even a man screaming.  We also hear the sounds of a jet fuel engine running - loud, then soft - but constantly running and whirling.)

(Jack takes several breaths, then turns around.)

(He starts running toward the sounds of the woman screaming.)

[ON JACK]

(Jack looks around from left to right.  It's almost as if it's too much for him to take in.  He slowly makes his way forward as if forcing his feet to continue to move toward the wreckage.)

(Only after he passes the camera, do we get to see the plane wreckage on the beach.)

(He puts an arm up to protect his eyes from the heat and fire as he runs past the burning wreckage to the people who need help on the other side.)

[EXT. BEACH - CRASH SITE - DAY - CONTINUOUS]

(Jack walks around the people noting the wreckage around him and that there are quite a number of survivors of the plane crash, people helping other people - people looking for missing people.  He looks around to find someone who really needs his help.)

(He keeps moving forward.)

(As he walks past the people and past the wreckage, he hears voices - some
louder than the others.)

MAN:  (o.s.)  Help!  Help!  Help me!  Somebody help me!
MAN:  (o.s.)  Somebody help me out!

(Jack has to hold a hand to his ear to muffle out the loud sound of the plane engine which is still whirring intermittently.  He stops and looks around the area.)

(He hears a woman screaming.  He hears a man's voice shouting for help.)

MAN:  (o.s.)  Somebody help me out!
